2019 Dolcetto

This Dolcetto has a lovely ruby color with brick red edges. On the nose find aromas of black plum, raspberry, rich ripe peach, violets, almond and a hint of mint. On the palate find soft round flavors of red plum, ripe blueberries, peach, almond and blackberry complemented by a rich mouthfeel and pleasant acidity. The finish is soft, heady and intriguing with notes of red fruits, black fruits and dash of cinnamon.

Pair with Roasted Acorn Squash, Mushroom Ravioli and Grilled Pork Chops with Plum Sauce

Winemaker Notes
Picked on October 4, on a Goldilocks year. High-toned flavors abounded through fermentation with notes of chai, tobacco and baking spices. We aged it in French oak, which is somewhat unusual for the grape. We wanted to see how it reacted. We loved the results, so we wanted to share them as a stand-alone bottling, rather than blending it in with the 2019 Italian blend ("Diciannove").
