Our Discovery Red is a blend of varieties we source from our partner vineyards in the Pacific Northwest, made to be a smooth, easy-drinking wine for every day. The vineyards and grapes are exactly the same as for our varietal wines, and we identify portions of those that are most suitable for blending and earlier drinking.
The grapes are brought to our Port Townsend winery immediately after harvesting, then crushed and fermented here. Some of the young wines are matured in oak barrels to add complexity, while others are kept in stainless steel tanks to retain more of their fruitiness. The final blend is ideal for a pizza or pasta night, or just a cool Port Townsend evening.
