Grown at Portteus Vineyards in the Rattlesnakes Hills AVA, our 2016 Sangiovese was destemmed lightly, but not crushed. We then let this wine ferment cool and slow before aging for 10 months in 33% new French oak. This is a wine for all seasons, with subtle fruit flavors with an emphasis on ripe, red plums and Christmas spices. The tannins are firm, but unthreatening, promising great food pairing ability but balanced enough to be enjoyed on its own.
