Sedici (Italian for sixteen) is a blend of our 2016 Italian varieties. We brought in Sangiovese and Barbera from Portteus Vineyards in Zilla and co-fermented them, then blended in Dolcetto from Inland Desert in Benton City. All were fermented in small lots. The resulting wine is meant as an easy-drinking red wine in the spirit of a medium-bodied Chianti or an Italian Rosso blend.
Our Sedici shows brambly blackberry and dark sour cherry notes, a lifted floral element, cracked pepper and earth, then some sweet fruit and caramel to the palate with a ripe tannic grip that will lend itself well to a range of mediterranean-style foods.
