2019 Grenache

2019 Grenache

A soft red garnet color, bright but with a slight haze. On the nose we are greeted by aromas of red plum, tobacco, cinnamon, jasmine flower and smoked meat. On the palate find luscious flavors of ripe strawberry mingled with little wild blackberry, cocoa and baking spice. The mouthfeel is soft and satisfying and the wine finishes dry with a lingering minerality, flavors of sauced cranberry, cacao and fresh herbs.

Winemaker Notes
Grenache is such a fun and giving grape by nature. Our challenge was to enhance whatever structure we could find in the grapes. The grapes were picked on October 5 on Sugarloaf Vineyard, which turned out to be just perfect for capturing full ripeness while retaining some youthful energy. A lovely gaminess that developed in the final wine is due in no small part to the "Grand Cru" toast profile in the French oak barrels.

Root Vegetable Tart, Deep Fried Oyster Po’ Boys, Duck Confit
