Port Townsend Vineyards

2022 Pinot Noir

2022 Pinot Noir

Grapes sourced from vineyards of Northern Willamette Valley, this 2022 Pinot Noir opens itself to aromas of ripe bing cherry layered with soft vanilla and the evocative freshness of late-summer cut grass. A delicate hint of peppercorn adds subtle intrigue and spirit to the bouquet.
Vibrant yet refined, the marriage of bright acidity and a long mellow finish, aptly express the energy of the wine. A touch of black pepper guides the mid-palate toward an expressive finish, adding along the way, gentle structure and complexity.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
"Our 2020 Pinot Noir is composed of fruit from Biodynamic grower Keeler Estate in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA located in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. The wine is a pale ruby color and is medium bodied. On the nose find delicate aromas of red cherry, red berries, menthol, tar, white pepper and forest floor. This French oak aged wine has barrel notes of smoke, vanilla and tobacco leaf on the nose and the palate. Find flavors of pomegranate, Rainier cherry, spun cotton candy and cranberry in this soft and pleasing example of Northwest Pinot Noir. The finish is dry with a pleasing and food friendly astringency and displays classic notes of under ripe cherry, woody herbs and ripe strawberry. "
Winemaker Notes
Harvested on October 6 as forest fires torched the hills to the east. Fermented in an oak tank and aged in barrel for extended time to develop harmony and complexity with the emergence of tertiary flavors on the pallet which only time in oak barrels can bring.
Food Pairing Notes
"Pair with simply grilled Sockeye salmon, gouda, smoked duck breast "
