2018 Tempranillo- We targeted these grapes for a for a more elegant expression of Tempranillo with fine tannins to pair well with food. We picked the fruit on the early side, fermented in a wooden tank at cooler temperatures to draw out a broad range of aromatics. After aging in french oak for 16 months, we chose 2 new barrels and two neutral barrels that we felt best captured the essence of this wine.
2019 Grenache- A soft red garnet color, bright but with a slight haze. On the nose we are greeted by aromas of red plum, tobacco, cinnamon, jasmine flower and smoked meat. On the palate find luscious flavors of ripe strawberry mingled with little wild blackberry, cocoa and baking spice. The mouthfeel is soft and satisfying and the wine finishes dry with a lingering minerality, flavors of sauced cranberry, cacao and fresh herbs.
2019 Mourvedre- A beautiful day bright, brick red coloration, yet not opaque, offering invigorating aromas of rose petal, jammy black fruit, baking spice and crushed lava rock. Rich mouthwarming flavors of black plum and black cherry are backed by notes of spicy black pepper. The spiciness continues on the finish though the rich fruit flavors of ripe raspberry, strawberry and bright cranberry are what linger on the palate and bring finesse to the tannic structure of this wine.
